Feature Proposal: We should be able to auto-link Task2468 and Question1357

Motivation

Currently have to use squabs to links certain types of (usually generated) topic names. Proposal is for some user friendliness.

Description and Documentation

There are some common themes used in topic naming, one of which is WordNUMBER e.g. Task90210. This isn't a wikiword, and we don't necessarily want it recognised as a wikiword pattern (we want to link Task90210 but not Fahrenheit451, for example). Further, we want to be able to direct these links to other sites as well, in the way Extensions.Interwikiplugin does.

ControlWikiWordPlugin does (most of) this for us. Install it on foswiki.org

Discussion

I think ControlWikiWordPlugin covers exactly that. Indeed the related topic text describes config options to do exactly what you are looking for.

yet more proof that the support here is excellent smile

thankyou Julian for reminding us - I kinda get the feeling we should install it on foswiki.org smile

Yes, thank you Julian! I was not aware of this plugin, and TBH had to read the description about 5 times before I realised what it does. Changed the feature request to request installation on f.o.

Installed. I let you guys configure it to suit your needs.
