Item9180: Extra
on lists

Priority: CurrentState: AppliesTo: Component: WaitingFor:
Normal New Extension TinyMCEPlugin Main.JulianLevens
When using the wysiwyg editor I often find that I have extra
around all bullet/numbered list entries. Naturally enough this messes up the formatting and I have to revert to raw editing to remove them. From then on I can edit the list without problems.

It does not always happen, so I played around here: TestTopic44541 to see if I could pinpoint the issue and I think I have. Basically, if I have a heading and need to insert a list after this heading. Then I am in the habit of clicking the mouse to the first character after the heading and pressing return, and then clicking on the number or bullet list icon. The resulting list will have these extra paras added. This may not be the only way to trigger the problem, but I hope it's enough to find the root cause.

I'm using IE7 as the browser (Version 7.0.5730.13).

Hi Juilian, I note that you reported you're on Foswiki 1.0.8.

What version of the TinyMCEPlugin are you using?

Also, I wonder if you would have the time to try the problem on trunk here at

Lists are working better on the new TinyMCE, sadly there's a bit of an issue with the pasteplugin, see Item8981

The problem still appear on IE7. I also tried Opera which was fine.

I also noticed that the cursor would jump back to the end of the previous line on hitting return - a new feature!

The question was: what version of Foswiki and what version of TinyMCEPlugin are you using?

We are on Foswiki 1.0.10 now and the issue may be resolved.

I should have been more explicit, I was responsing to Paul's request (24 Jun), so I tested on trunk and that's what my reply to Paul on 28 Aug is all about. Strictly speaking Paul asked about the version of TinyMCE ($Rev: 6527 (2010-02-26)): not Foswiki as that's already in the form.

Alas I do not know when I'll be able to re-test on 1.0.10.

I'll try to reproduce on IE7 at a later date.
