In edit context this plugin checks the existence of the template topic. In view context it does not.
Fixing that.

This breaks templating as view templates are read even for non-view and non-edit actions thus defining tmpl macros that are normally not there.
As far as I know, only edit needs a check if the edit template exists. View is robust on its own.
Oliver, could you please check what your original intent of this change was?
Making it urgent as it is a core plugin.
