Create an application that supports the creation and indexing of "consultant pages". Each page would contain (along with descriptive text) metadata indicating the consultant's location, specialties, etc. This would make it possible for a prospective client to find a consultant in the same locale (or, at least, time zone).

The WikiConsultants page (cloned from twiki.org) is awkward to maintain, we need a proper app for that.

A form that defines:

Please refine smile

Lets create a small application for WikiConsultants. Im quite short in time at the moment, but will start a first draft on 8/9th of Nov.

I fully support that approach. That is a very good idea.

I can imagine people are looking for expertise (coding, customization, etc.) and availability on the job (location).

Ouch, WikiConsultants now containts an html table, horrible.

I'm starting WikiConsultantForm

Well, i've layed out the very first rough bare-bone consultant app, please improve !!

I think it would be good to be able to include at least a 1-line description of each consultant in the table. Just having a general table of services doesn't tell much and so requires user to drill down to each individual topic to get much of any info. I'm not sure how to incorporate it into table. I tried displaying the ExtraInfo field as a tooltip but that didn't work. I think it may be useful to add a field for 1 line "byline".

I have reverted my work. If anyone cares to pick this up, if and when the community decides this is something we want, i've uploaded the files as http://nextwiki.org/pub/Support/WikiConsultants/consultants-app.tar.gz.

When someone does pick this up again, I think it would be really neat if the Search would pick up the information from a user's topic.

People were right, i've re-reverted the work again smile Not letting a tdn consultant sabotage progress :))

Sven's suggestion does have some ring to it, although I'm not consulting as a person but as a company, does that matter re putting the info in the usertopics?

Anyway, sven, welcome to refactor!

I replaced the "x" with a somehow nicer bullet icon. Added a tooltip to the bullets. Closing this item for the moment, cause I think, its nice enough for a first shot. Please re-open it again, if you want to add the world-map or whatever other cool feature.
