at least 2 things need improvement.
- configure should show an error for the store.
- the oops or error log should test and report on it.

Are you sure it's /tmp? AFAIK nothing in the core writes /tmp, only the working/tmp. If you know otherwise, can you point me in the right direction? I can't make my /tmp unwriteable to test this.

yes, I am sure its /tmp - rcs uses /tmp alot.

I've run into this problem a fair amount as well, if /tmp fills, all sorts of RCS errors will pop up.

I added a check to Configure. Still need a check in oops or error log, I guess.
