Item10695: Losing table colours at save
Priority: Enhancement
Current State: Confirmed
Released In: n/a
Target Release: minor
I am running Foswiki 1.1.2 from the Windows-installer.
I'm glad there is a wysiwyg-editor in Foswiki, that perfectly suits my needs.
The only thing that does not seem to work is storing the colours of a table.
So when I make a table from the wysiwyg-editor and I set the background of the cell or row to a certain colour, the colour disappears at save. When pushing the button "UPDATE" in edit-mode the colour is still visible, but when saving the topic the colour is gone.
Any ideas, am I overlooking something or is it a bug?
Thanx in advance!
Kind regards,
Raymond Westerik

Hi Raymond,
It's a limitation of Foswiki's TML
TextFormattingRules in that we have no "wiki-text" way of storing table colours.
If you would be happy with storing such tables as HTML, please review
Support.Faq43
I'm afraid if we want to go further with this, it will require an extension to the
TextFormattingRules for wiki-text (this needs some design over in
Development, please feel free to draft a proposal

Hi Paul,
In the meantime I found out that when you set "Rules" to "all" in the "table properties" the problem is fixed. A bit strange but it works!

I'm glad it helped. On second thoughts, I've re-opened as a pending enhancement, so we don't forget about this issue.
