Item2294: WebChanges paging broken

http://foswiki.org/Tasks/WebChanges?limit=20;showpage=2 displays page 1.

From the note at the bottom, perhaps foswiki.org/Tasks needs to upgrade to a current release?

We should consume our own product smile

Better not, as trunk is not yet stable enough for running a site.

Timothe - we do consume our own product. all developers should be accessing foswiki.org via http://trunk.foswiki.org (which is what that paging was added for), so that we get that codebase tested.

Actually, I tried that too. I get a username/password prompt from the wiki; enter the same one that I use here. I don't get an error, but the prompt repeats forever. So the trunk version doesn't work for me either. Perhaps I'm not a developer? But I should get an error, not an infinte loop asking for access information.

I see that this is still waiting for me. Well, trunk.foswiki.org still prompts for a login - in an infinite loop. So I can't say whether this works for me or not frown

-- TimotheLitt - 29 Jun 2010

that is really really weird. I'm making this change from trunk.foswiki.org :/

when you get this infinite loop, is the dialog telling you what it thinks is wrong?

-- SvenDowideit - 14 Sep 2010

I am not imagining this. Maybe there is a ghost in the system that doesn't like me frown

Here are more details.

Running Windows 7, IE 8.0.7600.16385

I am logged in, looking at this item. I center-click on http://trunk.foswiki.org/Tasks/WebChanges?limit=20;showpage=2, to open it in a new tab. This opened the new tab with http://trunk.foswiki.org/bin/login/Tasks/WebChanges?validation_key=6e17ec9820050ff210c7c96beedf16f5;limit=20;showpage=2;foswiki_origin=GET%2cview%2c/Tasks/WebChanges%3fvalidation_key%3d6e17ec9820050ff210c7c96beedf16f5%3blimit%3d20%3bshowpage%3d2 in the address bar.

My username and password are auto-filled (same as when I logged-in here).

I click 'logon', and the screen refreshes - to the same logon screen. There is no error message reported anywhere on the client side.

http://trunk.foswiki.org/bin/login/Tasks/WebChanges?validation_key=6e17ec9820050ff210c7c96beedf16f5;limit=20;showpage=2;foswiki_origin=GET%2cview%2c/Tasks/WebChanges%3fvalidation_key%3d6e17ec9820050ff210c7c96beedf16f5%3blimit%3d20%3bshowpage%3d2

Because this is too much cybercrud to compare visually, I pasted each into a .txt file and diffed them. They are the same.

This is being written on 1-Oct-10 at ~1510 UTC, if you want to check the server log files.

I just tried the same thing with a left click (no new tab) in another IE window, same results.

Ah!, I also tried this with Firefox 3.6.10 - it allowed the login.

Chrome also permits the login.

So the login loop seems to be an IE issue. I don't >think< I have a wierd IE configuration - but perhaps the log files can reveal something.
