For a long time my error_log on my test server running trunk says

view: Use of uninitialized value in -e at /var/www/foswiki/core/lib/Foswiki/Store/VC/Handler.pm line 423

It is there 1000s of times. Am I the only one seeing this?

The flood comes when editing a topic in raw edit if the page contains an EDITTABLE.

I have put a debugging statement just before Store/VC/Handler.pm line 423 printing out the file name.

And we get normally

/var/www/foswiki/core/data/System/WebBottomBarExample.txt, referer: http://merlin.lavrsen.dk/trunk/bin/edit/Myweb/TestCaseEditTableAllFieldTypes?t=1252999062;nowysiwyg=1

But among the many topics listed this sneaks in.

and this is causing the fail.

So why is the sub called with this garbage value?

It also happens on a simple topic when saving it.

Can you provide any more information? Such as, what are the minimal conditions (installed plugins/extensions) that you can reproduce it? And is there something special about the topic?

For what it's worth, I'm getting uninitialized variable problems in VC/Hanlder.pm as well, but in getTopicNames(). It doesn't happen on my old Perl 5.8 environment. The real trick is trying to discover why an invalid web name is being passed in (weird DBCacheContrib problem in my case).
