Item1965: beforeEditHandler does not respect changes in the meta object

... the same way beforeSaveHandler does. Probably other handlers that hand over meta objects are affected as well.

There isn't enough information here to know what to suggest. The topic object is passed to the handler, but this usage is undocumented. The meta-data is supposed to be embedded in the text passed. So what are you changing? What isn't happening?
