I wrote several big reports using the wysiwyg these last days, and everytime I type a URL like http://www.something.com, I had to select it, press the "external link button", remove by hand the http:// text in the dialog, paste the URL, save...
URLs should be translated into links by default. This is what occurs with the regular text editor.
