Question400
(revision 2) (raw view)
I want some feedback on this plugin: http://foswiki.org/Extensions/BrowserBoosterPlugin. The documentation for this says that this handles an issue with Firefox 2 and some latency issues in the network. Currently, we have Firefox 3.5.7, hence the first point is not valid anymore. Right? Has anybody got significant improvements using this plugin? -- Main.GuruprasadIyer - 01 Feb 2010 Depends... :-) If you can configure mod_expire (or the like) on your webserver, you probably dont need this plugin anymore. mod_expire sets a _best before date_ on each served file. Local caching works better with that enabled / customized. Not fetching js/css files from the webserver is faster than any boosted-fetching. If you cannot make use of such a technology and you are in a high latency environment, you still can improve using this plugin. -- Main.OliverKrueger - 01 Feb 2010
